Lauren Askew, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, received her Associate’s License in 2020 and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2004. She has previous experience counseling children and families. Lauren also has recent experience teaching preschoolers, helping families navigate the joys and anxieties of early parenting.

Lauren’s counseling focus is on improving the well-being of those who experience anxiety, anger, depression, attention concerns, and difficulty adjusting to new life changes. She helps children, adolescents, parents, college students, and young professionals to regain a measure of control over life stressors. Her interests also include working with multicultural families. In her practice, she utilizes cognitive-behavioral strategies, play therapy techniques, and a family systems approach to counseling.

In addition to counseling, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also helps lead her church community group and has found great encouragement from her faith community. Lauren likes to run, connect with friends and family, and keep her houseplants alive. Those moments of connection, as well as a clean house, brighten her life.

Meg Hill, LCMHC

Meg Hill, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, has 15 years of experience as a school counselor in elementary, middle and high school settings.  She earned her LCMHC license in 2002.  Meg received a B.A. in English from Davidson College and a M.Ed. from NC State University. In addition to counseling, she has spent years teaching English and AP Psychology.

Meg’s areas of interest include helping with anxiety, family changes, educational challenges, and grief. She has worked extensively with families dealing with life-threatening illness. Meg’s counseling services include individual and group therapy for elementary ages through high school, as well as parent coaching. Her practice emphasizes play therapy techniques and cognitive-behavioral therapy. She is also a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor, teaching supportive skills to adults who work with youth in an 8-hour course.

Some of Meg’s favorite activities are reading, writing, practicing Pilates, and trying to convince her family to help her complete puzzles. She is an active member and community group leader at Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. Her family includes her husband, two daughters, and their beloved dog, Delmar.
